Their personality, painted onto a skateboard

Send me a list of what they love. I draw it by hand onto a deck — every obsession, every in-joke, in one piece. It goes on the wall, and people keep finding things in it for ages.

From €450 a deck, quoted exactly before you pay anything. Four weeks from deposit, three if you are against a date.

Built from their obsessions

Halo, football, the car they will not shut up about. Send me the list and I work the lot into one composition. The more specific it is, the harder it lands.

My blank, or their old board

I keep good-quality blanks in the studio. Or send me a board that already means something — one memorial deck was painted onto the owner's actual board rather than a blank.

It ends up on the wall

Most of these never get ridden. They hang in kitchens, hallways and offices, and they are the first thing anyone asks about. Sealed, so you can skate it if you want to — the paint will wear, and that is your call.

Six commissions, six stories

Six painted skateboards featuring intricate, psychedelic black line art of multi-eyed totemic faces and tentacles
Left to right, in the order below.
  1. To celebrate the life of someone who went too soon. His own deck was used instead of a blank, and we worked in what he loved: snowboarding, fishing, PBR and his cats.
  2. A deck for a younger brother — computers, musical instruments and his car. He is a tinkerer, so the design is full of intricate imaginary machinery.
  3. A totem pole commission for a musician who hunted deer and mushrooms in the woods with his dog and his partner. His stories turned into this flowering totem mandala.
  4. A Harry Potter piece. The collector loved Cerberus and the owl, and wanted them interpreted in my own style rather than copied.
  5. A Colorado commission for a pizza-eating, Mountain Dew-drinking customer hunting for a skinny art piece to fill a tricky spot on the wall.
  6. An anniversary deck for a couple who cycle to microbreweries and climb mountains. Not in that order.

How a deck gets made

Seven steps, about four weeks, and you sign off the layout before any paint goes down.

  1. Digital mood board of skateboard graphic concepts featuring illustrated pandas and rabbits with cars and guns

    Roughs

You send the list. I come back with rough layouts — composition first, no detail yet.

  2. Three skateboard designs illustrating a red car, explosions, armed panda and bunny characters, and money stacks

    Revisions

We move things around until the layout is right. Nothing is painted until you have signed it off.

  3. Wooden skateboard deck on a table beside an iPad and cardboard boxes packed with colorful paint markers

    Painting begins

The approved layout goes onto the deck and the first lines go down.

  4. Hand-painted skateboard depicting armed animal characters and a car chase, leaning in a studio space among paint markers

    Blockout

Flat colour blocked in across the whole board, so the composition reads from across a room.

  5. Hand-painted skateboard on a desk featuring a panda gangster, car chase, and text GET MONEY IN ABUNDANCE

    Details

The linework and the small stuff — the part people lean in for.

  6. Painted skateboard with a panda and rabbit in a red car fleeing police amid explosions, resting on Euro banknotes

    Photographed

Shot properly, so you have images of the finished deck before it leaves the studio.

  7. Painted skateboard depicting an armed panda and rabbit with text GET MONEY IN ABUNDANCE, surrounded by Euro notes

    Sit back

It ships boxed and tracked, with the edges protected. Then it goes on the wall.

A 50% deposit books your job into the calendar. I reply to first messages within 2–4 working days.

Live painting, brand drops and events

Not every deck is a gift. Brands book me to paint live in front of a crowd, and to turn out custom boards in batches on a deadline.

Questions people ask

What does a custom deck cost?

From €450 a deck. Price moves with how much you want packed into it — a board with forty things hidden in it takes longer to draw than one with ten. You get a fixed quote before you pay anything.

How long does it take?

Four weeks from the deposit is typical. Three is the fastest I can do it properly. In busy stretches, usually the run-up to Christmas, it can stretch to eight. Postage is on top. If you have a date to hit, tell me early and I will tell you straight whether it is doable.

Can you repaint a skateboard or longboard I already own?

Yes, and sometimes that's the better answer. I keep good-quality blanks in the studio, but if the board itself carries the story (his board, her first board, the one that got ridden to death) send it to me and I'll paint that instead. Old paint and varnish get sanded off first. New blanks get the same prep, because they come varnished from the factory.

Do you paint surfboards too?

Yes. Surfboards and fins as well as skate decks, and you can see some of them in the gallery on this page. A surfboard is quoted on its own because of its size and the postage, and you still get a fixed quote before you pay anything.

Can I skate it, or is it wall art?

Both are fine. The paint is sealed, and most of these end up mounted on a wall rather than ridden. Skate it and it will wear, the same as any graphic. That is your call to make, not mine.

What do you need from me?

A messy list is perfect. Favourite bands, the dog, the pub they always end up in, the holiday they will not shut up about. Photos, half-thoughts, whatever is easiest. Finding the story in the pile is my job, not yours.

What if the roughs are not what I pictured?

You see it before it is permanent. I turn your list into a layout and send it over — nothing is painted until you are happy. If something is in the wrong place, we move it at the rough stage. That is what the rough stage is for.

How does payment work?

A 50% deposit books your job into my calendar and I start on roughs. If I have not started, the deposit comes back. Once I am into ideation and sketching it is non-refundable — that week is real work.

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes. I ship from Warsaw, Poland. Decks go out boxed with the edges protected and a tracking number. Postage depends on where you are and sits on top of the quote.

Can you do a batch for a brand, or paint live at an event?

Yes. I have painted decks live in skateparks for Mountain Dew, produced One of a Kind boards for IMC to recruit with at a jobs fair, and painted on Bondi Beach for a morning TV spot. Tell me the date, the crowd and the numbers.

Tell me about your special someone

Who is it for, what are they into, and is there a date it has to land on? The more you tell me, the better the deck gets.
